It is with pleasure that I write this letter of support on behalf of Veronica Anderson, owner of Second Chance Home Care. My mother was diagnosed with Dementia seven years ago. Today she is 87 years old, and the Dementia has progressed to the Advanced Stage. My mother is the most important person in my life, and for that reason, she will reside in our home for the remainder of her life. Second chance lived up to its name about one year ago, when they took a chance on my mother by giving her a second opportunity to remain home as safe and independent as possible. Up to two years ago, my mother attended daycare on a consistent basis. As soon as it was time for her to remain home, the inconsistency began. We went through four different agencies because there were claims that she is too heavy; she requires too much work; she’s not independent enough. She has to be assisted with toileting. After hearing my mother’s story, Mrs. Anderson did not hesitate to take on my mother as a client and had someone in place by the following Monday. Second Chance, in my opinion, provides a service without question, thought or excuse. As an only child and as a single working mother, dependability, consistency, and commitment are essential attributes for me to balance my schedule that includes taking care of an ailing mother and my children. I have found the right organization to take care of my mother while I try to bring a sense of normalcy to my home, which is comforting. Hence, it is without hesitation that I recommend Second Chance to anyone who needs to take a stressed free break.
